#1 Falcons Roll to 3-0 Win Over Cambrian

(London, Ontario) – On Saturday afternoon at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre, the #1 nationally ranked Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team (17-0) rolled to a 3-0 victory over the Cambrian Golden Shield (1-16). The win extended their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 48 matches.

The Birds jumped out to an early lead with quick kills from Sam Otten (Delaware, ON) and James Jackson (London, ON). A service ace from Taylor Jordan (London, ON) stretched Fanshawe's lead. Cambrian worked hard to stay with the Falcons however could not catch the home team. Fanshawe won by a score of 25-18 in set one.

The Falcons proved to be too much for the Golden Shield again in the second set. Back-to-back aces from Otten gave the red and white the momentum. Fanshawe also got offense from middle blockers Matthew Stokes (Dover Centre, ON) and James Pratt (Uxbridge, ON). The Falcons went on to win the second set 25-13.

Excellent serving from Fanshawe in the third set made it difficult for the Golden Shield to get going. The Falcons received points from numerous players, showing their depth. The home team eventually wore down Cambrian and took the match with a 25-15 final set victory. The top performers for the Falcons were Jordan and Otten with 14 and 12 points respectively.

The Falcons clinched first place in the OCAA West last week and will look to complete a perfect regular season in tomorrow's 3pm home match versus Boréal (1-16).
