Fanshawe Invitational Badminton Tournament Preview
Fanshawe is set to host their 34th annual invitational badminton tournament from Friday, November 14th to Sunday, November 16th at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre.
(London, ON) - Fanshawe is set to host their 34th annual invitational badminton tournament from Friday, November 14th to Sunday, November 16th at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre.
Action will kick off on Friday at 4:00 p.m. with men's and women's singles matches being played. The singles action will continue on Saturday with matches beginning at 9:00 a.m. The men's and women's doubles bracket will get started on Saturday at the conclusion of the singles bracket.
Sunday's action will get started at 9:00 a.m. with the mixed-doubles bracket. The final day will conclude with the second annual Coaches Cup, a bracket featuring the coaches from competing institutions.
The Falcons badminton team has welcomed the return of Arpi Sinha (London, ON) this season. Sinha was dominant in the 2023-24 season as he won the OCAA men's doubles provincial gold medal and the CCAA men's doubles national silver medal with his partner Roshan Jacob. After not competing last season, Sinha will set his sights on adding more hardware to his collection this year, including a strong performance at the Falcons home invitational.
Other returners to the Falcons badminton team include Abbriham Ng (India) who won an OCAA mixed-doubles provincial bronze medal last season and Samantha Darby (London, ON) the Falcons women's badminton Most Valuable Player from the 2024-25 season.
