Fanshawe hosted its 34th annual invitational badminton tournament from Friday, November 14th to Sunday, November 16th at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre.
(London, ON) - Fanshawe hosted its 34th annual invitational badminton tournament from Friday, November 14th to Sunday, November 16th at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre.
The three day event featured student-athletes from Fanshawe, Humber, Seneca, Boreal, Cambrian and Conestoga.
The Falcons badminton team fared well at their home invitational with multiple athletes experiencing success. Samantha Darby (London, ON) was impressive as her day one performance saw her win the Women's Singles B Flight bracket. Arpi Sinha (London, ON) and his doubles partner Thao Le (Tillsonburg, ON) showcased their teamwork on the second day of the invitational by winning the Men's Doubles B Flight bracket. On day three of the invitational Suhail Muhammed (Cambridge, ON) and doubles partner Rejoice Nwokedi (Nigeria) prevailed in the Mixed Doubles C bracket.
In the second annual Coaches Cup, the Falcons team featuring head coach Steve Ruddach and assistant coach San Dang went a perfect 5-0 to finish first among the coaches.

The Falcons badminton team will compete again at the Seneca Invitational on January 23rd and 24th in King City, Ontario.
