Five Falcons Make an OCAA All-Star Team
The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) announced the men’s baseball league award winners for the 2025-26 season, with five players from Fanshawe earning recognition.
(London, Ontario) – The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) announced the men's baseball league award winners for the 2025-26 season, with five players from Fanshawe earning recognition. Marcus Normandin (Mississauga, ON), William Baltrusiunas (Fonthill, ON), and Jud McGowan (Lakefield, ON) were named First Team All-Stars, while Holden Heipel (Clinton, ON) and Connor Rodwin (Burlington, ON) were named Second Team All-Stars. McGowan was also selected to the OCAA All-Rookie Team.
Normandin, the Falcons' fourth-year catcher, had his most impressive season to date. He finished first in the OCAA in doubles (12), third in RBIs (17), fourth in batting average (.426), and third in slugging percentage (.704). These were career highs across the board for Normandin, who excelled in an expanded role this season.
Baltrusiunas, the Falcons' third-year first baseman, also stepped up this year, setting new career highs. He finished top 10 in the OCAA in both batting average (.385) and slugging percentage (.538) while proving to be a reliable defender at first base with a .981 fielding percentage.
McGowan, a rookie infielder, made a substantial impact as one of the OCAA's most dangerous hitters all season. He finished first in the OCAA in RBIs (21), first in total bases (42), first in home runs (4), and third in hits (23).
Heipel, a first-year pitcher, was a shutdown presence on the mound and one of the OCAA's top pitchers. He finished fourth in ERA (2.04), second in wins (4), tied for first in starts (5), and seventh in innings pitched (24). Heipel's versatility was also an asset, as he contributed in the infield and recorded 38 at-bats during the year.
Rodwin, a fourth-year player and first-year Falcon, was a welcome addition to the Fanshawe lineup. He showcased impressive power at the plate, finishing first in the OCAA in triples (2), sixth in home runs (2), and sixth in slugging percentage (.565).
