OCAA Announces Softball League Award Winners

(London, Ontario) – At the OCAA Provincial Softball Championship banquet on Wednesday evening, five Fanshawe Falcons Softball student-athletes were honoured for their accomplishments this season as the OCAA handed out their 2022 Softball league awards.

Morgan Lowry (Middlesex-Centre, ON) and Kennedi Roth (Stratford, ON) were named to the First All-Star team for the Falcons. Lowry had another outstanding season for Fanshawe, setting a new OCAA record for most strikeouts in a season with 139. Teammate Roth led the Falcons and was top three in the OCAA in batting average (.528), hits (47) and stolen bases (21).

Additionally, Fanshawe's Marandee Hunter (Chatham, ON), Jenna McLean (Watford, ON) and Madeline Pappas (Richmond Hill, ON) were named OCAA Second Team All-Stars for their excellent play this season.

Fanshawe Athletics will be hosting the 2022 OCAA Provincial Softball Championship from October 20-22 at Alumni Field. The Falcons (17-7, 4^th) will face the Conestoga Condors (12-12, 5^th) in an OCAA first round playoff game on Thursday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m.
