Men's Indoor Soccer Concludes Season in Fourth Place
At the 2024-25 Men's Indoor Soccer OCAA Provincial Championship on Friday afternoon, the Fanshawe Falcons placed fourth.
During the semi-final game versus the George Brown Huskies, the teams were evenly matched in the first half with both squads remaining scoreless. Unfortunately, George Brown scored to break the tie and would not look back. They would add another few goals as the Falcons attempted to pressure and Fanshawe fell 4-0.
In the bronze medal match against the Conestoga Condors, the Falcons got on the board first with a goal from Zachary Parent (Chatham, ON) assisted by Darius Darling (Cambridge, ON). The Condors then responded with three goals, including one while the Falcons were shorthanded, to go up 3-1 at half. Fanshawe came out strong in the second frame, pressuring the Condors. Parent notched his second goal of the game, finding the bottom left corner of Conestoga's net to cut the lead to 3-2. Unfortunately, the Falcons couldn't capitalize at the end of the match and would finish fourth in the province.
The Championship was held in Vaughan, Ontario and hosted by Centennial College.
