(London, Ontario) – On Saturday afternoon at the OCAA Men's Soccer Provincial Championship in Peterborough, the Fanshawe Falcons Men's Soccer squad (11-2) captured the OCAA silver medal, falling to the defending national champion Humber Hawks (10-2-1). This is the best finish for a Fanshawe Men's Soccer team since 1996-97.
In the first half, both teams battled to create scoring opportunities. Strong defensive play on both ends resulted in a 0-0 score after the first 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the Hawks would score early in the second half and add on two more goals to win the game 3-0. The player of the match for the Falcons was Bradley Heath (Markham, ON). Heath and Tomas Alvarez (London, ON) were named Tournament All-Stars.
