(London, ON) - The Falcons men's volleyball team (13-5, 3rd West) have advanced to the OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship hosted by Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario from February 27-28.
The Falcons have been impressive this post-season, dispatching George Brown (9-8, 6th East) in their first round playoff matchup, three sets to one. The Birds then hit the road to face Georgian (14-4, 2nd East) in the quarter-finals and completed a clean sweep to punch their ticket to the OCAA Championship.
Up next for the Falcons will be the semi-finals against the host team Cambrian Shield (15-3, 1st West). After failing to reach the championship match last season, the Falcons will look to return to the big dance but first must take down the host Shield. Fanshawe and Cambrian met two previous times in the regular season, splitting the season series with the home team coming out on top in both meetings.
The trip to the OCAA Championship will be the fourth consecutive season the Falcons men's volleyball team has made it to the final four. Collecting silver medals in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons and a bronze last season, the Birds will look to claim the top spot on the podium for the first time since 2018-19 where the men's team won both the Provincial and National Championships.
All the OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship matches will be played inside the Cambrian College Gymnasium in Sudbury and can be livestreamed at ocaa.com/live.
