Ashlyn Anderson Named CCAA All-Canadian
Also named OCAA West Division First Team All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year
(London, Ontario) – The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) announced the women's basketball league award winners for the 2025–26 season.
Falcons second year forward, Ashlyn Anderson (Latchford, ON) was nothing short of dominant this season and her phenomenal play was recognized on a grand scale. Anderson was named the OCAA West Division Defensive Player of the Year and earned OCAA West Division First Team All-Star honours. Beyond the provincial accolades, Anderson was also one of three women's basketball players from the OCAA to be named a CCAA All-Canadian (Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association).
Anderson was the OCAA's premier paint protector this season, finishing her year with 49 blocks (a Fanshawe women's basketball program single-season record) which led the entire OCAA. Her 3.1 blocks per game also led the conference. Anderson's impact went beyond the paint, however, as she finished her regular season with 38 steals, tying her for 12th in the OCAA. Her 87 combined blocks and steals were the most in the conference, showcasing her overall defensive versatility. Anderson began the season with a 15-game block streak and had 14 multi-block performances. Her profound defensive impact was the driving force behind the Falcons women's basketball team being the best defensive team in the OCAA West Division. Anderson becomes the fourth Falcons women's basketball player in program history to receive the OCAA West Division Defensive Player of the Year award.
Anderson also evolved into one of the OCAA's most prolific and efficient scorers this season. Her 15.9 points per game ranked sixth in the OCAA while her 56.5% field goal percentage led the entire conference. In addition to being the OCAA's most efficient scorer, Anderson was a double-double machine, finishing the regular season with 13 double-doubles while recording a double-double in every single game since the start of 2026. Serving as a focal point for both the offence and defense, Anderson becomes the eighth player in Falcons women's basketball program history to be named a CCAA All-Canadian.
